How to prepare for an energy healing

Read this short guide to know how to prepare for the healing, and what to expect afterwards.

How to prepare for an energy healing

Energy healing is a time to slow down, receive and allow your body, mind and energy field to release what no longer serves you. You do not need to do anything perfectly, simply arrive with an open mind and a willingness to receive.

Before your healing

Create a quiet, comfortable space where you will not be disturbed. Have water nearby, put your phone on silent and let the people around you know that you need uninterrupted time.

If possible, remove jewellery, your phone and other technology from your body. If there is something you cannot remove, that is completely okay, there is no need to worry about it.

You may also wish to set an intention for your healing. This can be anything you would like to release, transform or invite into your life. You can write your intentions down, or simply hold them in your heart.

What you may experience during a healing

Every healing is unique. You may feel deeply relaxed, emotional, warm or cold, heavy or light. Some people experience tingling, yawning, ringing in the ears, physical sensations, memories or feelings arising. You may see colours, shapes, faces or images, or you may simply rest quietly.

There is no right or wrong experience. Whatever comes up, allow yourself to observe it without judgement. Thoughts, emotions and memories can surface as old energy begins to move, soften and release.

You may even fall asleep. This is completely fine, and many people find that they are able to receive very deeply in this relaxed state.

After your healing

Drink plenty of water after your session and give yourself space to rest. Your body and energy field may continue to integrate the healing in the hours and days that follow.

Be gentle with yourself. You may feel peaceful, lighter and clearer straight away, or you may need quiet time for emotions, insights or shifts to settle. Both experiences are natural.

Sometimes the mind can feel a bit chaotic as energies are being released. Listening to the album Golden Ratio, by Maneesh de Moor, with a headset, is an efficient way to calm your nervous system and your mind.

In the days that follow

Rest is one of the most important ways to support your healing. When possible, give yourself extra sleep, nourishment, water and time away from stress. A walk in nature, a bath, journaling, yin yoga or simply being still can also help you integrate what has shifted.

Energy from difficult experiences can become held in the body from childhood onwards. These unresolved imprints may influence the patterns we repeat, the relationships we choose and the way we feel about ourselves, love, health, money and freedom. As old energy clears, it becomes easier to respond to life from a more peaceful and empowered place.

You may notice dreams, memories, emotions, colours, numbers, new awareness or a sense that certain relationships and situations are changing. Sometimes life begins to move more easily; at other times, what no longer belongs in your life may naturally begin to fall away, creating space for more aligned people, opportunities and lessons to appear.

Trust your own process. Your only task is to rest, stay hydrated and allow the healing to unfold.
